The two members of Catalyst Duo, Holly and David Kordahl, are married professional musicians. They met as part of a trio during college, and have continued, afterward, to perform both together and separately.

Holly Kordahl (piano) is a seasoned performer. In the last year alone, she has performed in Georgia, Washington, Texas, Georgia, Washington D.C., Kansas, and Arizona. In the summer of 2010, Holly toured the Midwest, giving recitals in four different states. In previous years she has been the winner in the Pella-Rolscreen and the NAMTA competitions, and finalist in the University of Kansas Concerto Competition and the Terrace Hill piano competition. In December 2011, she performed with the ASU Symphony as a winner of the Concert of Soloists competition. After having earned a master's degree in piano performance from the University of Kansas, she is currently pursuing a doctorate at ASU, where she also teaches. Last year, as an instructor for the Music Mentors program, a volunteer organization that allows underprivileged youth to be given no-cost music lessons, she was named the KU Center for Community Outreach Volunteer of the Month. For more information on her work as a private instructor, please visit the Kordahl Piano Studio website.

David Kordahl (violin) also has a long history in music. After beginning to play when he was just four years old, he joined his first symphony orchestra in the fifth grade. By the time he graduated from high school, he had been selected multiple times as an all-state performer, had performed for several years with the Northwest Iowa Symphony Orchestra, and had soloed with the Dakota Academy of Performing Arts orchestra. In college, he went on to major in violin performance, along with studies in physics. His collegiate experiences allowed him to tour internationally and to take on leadership roles in various ensembles, including the Wartburg Community Symphony and the Wartburg String Quartet. After college, he has continued to play for various events, though much of his professional life has been spent in diverse pursuits. After earning a master's degree in physics from the University of Kansas, he now works as a high school teacher and a freelance writer, as well as being a performer with Catalyst Duo.
